Equinox 05:45
with a hand that feeds on agony and a throat that feeds on blood and gin this monument stands fortress and man see their walls crushed into sand let loose the hounds send the young to war where nightmares hunt in the light greenest of pastures, purest of land reduced to ashes by my command behold the bearer of rotten fruit mists of mournings past i can see the fear in their eyes the smell of the blood in the air the mask of plenty roots deep as misery the well has been poisoned the waters run dry my eyes no longer see  blinded from inside now i rule over rubble carcasses bleached by the sun an empire collapses now terror has begun if you can't draw blood from stone then what drips from my hands and  pools around this throne?  farmers feed their crops to flame casting curses and stone  at houses made of bone and blame stay warm in the enemy’s skin gnaw your way out from within wash the tears away with blood rise again from the earth
2.
rumours and ghosts of what there is no memory blackened stone speaks of hot ash gutted forms still standing in protest against the passage of time earthen scars of toil futile efforts to survive once regarded as a symbol of permanence succumbs to the oxides and rain what falls to the ground as dry deposition combined concentrates that will not wash away howling of winds calling out with no reply to eroding architecture, forgotten design a place of bones silently desolate save for the tumbling of debris voiceless echoes rumours and ghosts of what there is no memory blackened stone speaks of hot ash a place of bones
3.
with tendrils that cover and stretch across mountains encompassing and blacking out the wide taking forms offered up from the submerged mind sediment of the sky born under one form twisted through time elements that consummate the whole exhaustive, integral endless cycle a swan song that would signal the end flawless elements that desiccate time stirring in shadows amidst crags that hide  civilizations before ever touched by man born under one form twisted through time elements that consummate the whole exhaustive, integral

dawn brings the shadow a new state divided yet forever intertwined serpent of both east and west the three heads of abraham proselytize, edge of the sword propagated to capitalize the first head will prop up the next the third head will feed from the other raze to the ground the mandate, destabilize as a means to control and enslave iron age god of war lower the gates kingdom of god your reward lay on the other side this life is your suffering refuse to be awakened the truth so hard to accept that those whose words are adored has turned, pitting sect against sect dawn brings the shadow a new state  erase all that remains to contradict the last stone set in place will be laid down by the very hands the architect means to oppress
5.
straight from the lips, bleeding lies a fabrication designed to force a compromise the fingertips trace the sign of the architect who claims its grand design praise them for their ignorance crawling back for more and sure to reap the consequence nameless, faceless, just silhouettes enforcing laws designed to keep them passive and oppressed behold a saviour upon a beast of steel and might  raise the banner, hold it high and demonize those who dare to defy after the vultures there's nothing left except the waste and bones that's tossed aside at his behest no more brothers into confide succumbed to an intellectual genocide suspicious looks from side to side on constant guard against those who deny the pride of sharing countryman and kin betraying both enraptured by nothing left a landscape raped and rendered desolate by the power that rose to be existing only to keep consuming everything a construct to explain what cannot be  conquer, divide a scapegoat to blame a suspension measured out just right  will still endure a separation
6.
a raging ocean has spoken  and has called its son back from sky to inferno from ocean unto eternal awash in desperation nothing out of reach nor freezing nor fright  no failure shattered broken and destroyed  no more  offerings of the flesh falling from the sky and the worst has befallen us a songbird descends from the sky and whispers a final breath into the continuum questions left unanswered mourning so bittersweet and the sorrowful amends stain us all throwing stones at the eyes of a ghost when the shapes and the scratches on the floor cease to have meaning then it is time tomorrow is never promised
7.
The Cloak 02:18
ever breaking moment passed has happened reaching back to show the light that nobody wants and nobody will ever get this time feed them from the table of lies prepared for such a time as this hand over fist absolve them of their crimes let the air grow thick with fear and keep the reason out of sight illusion of choice was made for you and you have made the choice the cloak comes off the face of pride a righteous shame from which to hide let the air grow thick with fear and keep the reason out of sight illusion of choice was made for you and you have made the choice
8.
Slow Burn 06:11
portraits of a scenescape flashes of a lifetime play out in increments that cannot be controlled a slow burn often leaves you alone the utmost importance diminished to a passing memory of a time when the ties that bind are forever broken a slow burn cannot be tamed only managed over time a scorched earth leaves a wreckage without answers or rationale the forebears who brought us light  like us all, they too have no choice a slow burn engulfs the flesh and the might  that propels the spirit forward memories fade, decisions are made this is annihilation incarnate tragedy grinds the soul an embodiment of every form of frenzy no master, nor keeper of truth is immune falling into the cosmos eons of whisperless cries  no more than a weeping refrain for the chance that was not the intersection of malice and grief a slow burn offers no reprieve

about

Gross Misconduct Vancouver, British Columbia

Equinox is an amalgam of the frantic thrash found on the band's debut and the more progressive death metal elements of its followup. The fast parts are faster, the slow parts are moodier. Songs breathe.

Imagine Cynic with a dollop of Death, a smattering of The Crown/Mastodon/Gojira and healthy doses of 1980s Metallica and Slayer. This is where Equinox finds its home.
